More Cakes


WAR CAKE

2 cups white sugar
2 cups hot water
4 tablespoons margarine, size of an egg
1 pkg. raisins, 315g. or nearly 1 lb.
2 level teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
BOIL THIS 5 MINUTES, THEN COOL A LITTLE
THEN ADD:
2 teaspoons soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon of warm water
3 cups flour
nuts and gumdrops, optional
Bake 350 for 1 hour

CRUMB CAKE

1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon margarine, sige of an egg
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
MIX AND TAKE 1 CUP OUT FOR TOP
THEN ADD:
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup milk
Bake 350 for 25 minutes

TOMATO SOUP CAKE

1/3 cups shortening or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon soda
1 can tomato soup, (Campbells)
approximately 1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup raisins, optional
1/2 cup walnuts, optional
Bake 350 till cake springs back, approximately 30 minutes
